Day 351 - Pages 348, 349, 350 and 351

Oh boy! References, references, references!!

Let's start at the top and work our way down, shall we?

They start on Page 350, with the Batman (sort of) mask on the mannequin.

Then I have a cameo next to Lightning Bug, (hee hee).

We also see LB mooching a gum packet, just like Zach said he did on Page 249.

And finally on the last panel, I make fun of Comic Con with my "Nerd Con" parody.

THEN, on Page 351, I make a small reference to one of my favorite comic books, The World of Quest, Volume 2 by Jason T. Kruse, with my "aaaand back to Lightning Bug" caption.

Finally, I reference Generator Rex with Lightning Bug's nerdspeak in the last panel about the two leaked episodes. :P

And to top it off, here's the Bare Bones!

Here's a simple test. Without looking at the colored version below, can you tell which clones are which?

And is Lightning Bug in the page? 

It's a pretty interesting exercise. Lightning Bug, Sermon and Exaggerator look and act pretty much alike.

From the speech bubble however, it's obvious the one to the far left is Exaggerator, which makes the one on the far right Lightning Bug. Happy-Go-Lucky and Angry are easily recognized because of the speech balloons and the expressions. Anyway, here's the real page.

Just an interesting thing to think about. :)

Powers: 

Water manipulation and quick reaction time, thanks to his cybernetic abilities.

Weakness:

Candy! Cysurfer has to have 2 lbs of candy a day to keep his energy up.

Zach must be blind because even with Lightning Bug added, there's only six Lightning Bugs!

Anyway... It's about time to fully explain the clones. :D

Angry

Angry is Lightning Bug's angry side, a side that doesn't come often, and when it does, it's often rather joking. However, oddly, Angry is really, really angry. I guess that's how angry Lightning Bug gets when somebody stomps on his comics with muddy boots on. At least that's how I imagine it.

We see evidence of Lightning Bug's angry side here:

Happy-Go-Lucky

Happy-Go-Lucky is Lightning Bug's happy side, and it's the side he displays most often.

However, given Lightning Bug's annoying tendencies and the fact that he usually has a comeback for everything, (though he may not say it), I would say if there was an emotion that describes LB it would be "cocky."

Crybaby

Crybaby is basically Lightning Bug at his most pathetic. I don't think there is actually a panel with Lightning Bug crying in it, but this is as close at it gets:

Crazy

Crazy is Lightning Bug when he is one of those "that is so COOL" moods. He spends a lot of time in that kind of mood, so it was tough to find a page that was crazy enough to stand out from the crowd:

Talkative

"Talkative" is a bit of a misnomer, or so it seems. But when Lightning Bug gets going, we can see what a blabbermouth he really is. There are two pages that show this, one shows how Lightning Bug sometimes avoids a speech, the other when he can't. :)

Mysterious Number 6

WHO is this clone?! WHAT is the trait that he is based off of?!

We may NEVER FIND OUT!!!

This is one of my favorite pages. Remember what I said about Lightning Bug's inner geek before? Well look what happens when his personality divides by five! :D

And now, the Top Five WORST Pages!

Do you know of pages that have one or two bad drawings of Zach? Probably. Do you know pages where the script could be better? Most likely you do. BUT, do you know pages where there are drawings so hideous you'd wonder why I let them slip past? Do you know pages that have such horrendous dialogue that it almost drops off the page?! Well, I do. Here they are.

"Gasp! Stare!" What are they gasping at?! And what's up with Zach's nose?!

Yawn. This page has a lot of panels, but it's tedious and shows how bad sometimes my writing can be.

Oh boy, I love Emoticlones! XD

Okay, I admit, it ISN'T an original idea. But then again superheros, Jekkell and Hyde, people with hands that can grow larger then a dump truck and monkeys aren't either. :P

So in these pages I'm bringing back Classic Characters. Notice how I've brought in Big Fist, and Stranger in Black. Stranger in Black was the FIRST superhero to be shown. However, I'm not sure we even know his NAME yet, at least in the comic. I'd better start inserting more names in here. :P
