It took me about twenty minutes to shade this, and I'm not kidding.

By the way, there's kind of an inside joke here... I'm a great admirer of the art style of Mike Kunkel, and I based this page off his first issue cover art of Billy Batson and the Magic of Shazam, seen below.

It's been a while since I've been completely caught up! :D

Day 143 - Pages 141, 142 and 143

Okay here are two things. One of them is that I went over the page count for Part 4. I was supposed to end it on page 142. So I am ending it now, which is why there is a big cliffhanger. That up there is the end of Part 4. The other thing is, no, that "Evil Rising" thing does not mean that that is the title of Part 5.

I changed the title of Part 4 because none of Part 4 had any time travel in it.

Part 5 will be called "Clones."

Day 135 - Pages 133 and 134

I'm still one page behind, so tomorrow I'll do two more pages. I didn't want to have to do three pages again today.

Day 132 - Page 130, 131, 132

Unfortunately I missed yesterday's page! Luckily  I'm back on track today. Late, but still, today.

On page 132, I messed up Big Fist's insignia. It's supposed to read "BF", but it reads "BG".

I've been so late I didn't bother to fix it!

Day 125 - Pages 120, 121, 122, 123, 124, and 125

Okay, first let me explain. First of all, the reason for six whole pages is NOT because of me forgetting. Rather it is because of a six day trip away from home. Ugh. Anyway, here are SIX PAGES for you to enjoy reading! It's pretty neat, eh? :)

Okay, I loved the character of Rocktitan so much I just had to do more with him. Plus, I had an easy way  to keep myself from being bored out of my mind doing a boring old talk in Zach's store.

So I brought in Smileyface, who is actually Mr. Thumbs Up Man's arch nemesis.

My favorite page for today is of course page 121, with the motion blur effects and the cool slanting panels, page 122 also needs a special mention, since it has some awesome poses. Overall I think all of these pages have a wonderful flow to them. I'm trying to make the comic get better and better, with more and more effects and stuff and better shading, maybe some highlights, until the whole thing takes quite a bit to do and looks awesome.

Anyway, hope you have fun, like I did, slaving away, making six pages in one day.

(Just kidding, it wasn't THAT hard).

Day 60 - Pages 58, 59 and 60

Pages 58, 59 and 60! All of which I'm satisfied with. You know, I didn't even realize that I was doing a one panel page for page 60! I'm glad it turned out that way, it's a nice dramatic ending! Hmm... 11 more pages to do before Part 3! Nice. Anyway, the reason I turned this in late is because I have gotten a sore throat. I still have it, and it's going to make things rather painful.

I'll push on and hopefully get over it. And hey -- ! It's the first time I haven't felt well all year! 

I haven't been sick since 2010! XD!

Day 32 - Page 32

FEBUARY 1ST! :D New page. This page is interesting because of the little discussion with "Zach." He, of course, doesn't know about a clone because he IS the clone! While the REAL Zach is now Hcaz! Isn't this awesome? :D

Character Designs

There are many things you need to do before making a comic book, and some of them are designing characters, writing scripts, and laying out layouts. Because I am going to do a page a day, I can't do any character designs as well. Thats why the work doesn't begin in 2011, it really begins now.

Design for Zach (not complete)

I drew the main character first, of course. His name is Zach and he is the owner of a superhero shop, where the superheroes buy all of their outfits, weapons, and stuff. But what the superheroes doesn't know is that he has another side to him, sort of like Dr. Jekkell (or however you spell it).

And that side sells to the villains. The size comparison shows his other side Hcaz size compared with him. When he becomes Hcaz he bulks up and becomes meaner, and more likable to the villains.

The different stores, The Super Store and Evil 4 Sale are back to back, continuing with the yin/yang theme.

Thats about the only design I've made so far and liked, so thats about it.
